1. For this reason, it is imperative that we give much greater attention to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should slip away. 2. For if the word spoken by angels was enforced without fail, and every transgression and disobedience received just recompense, 3. How shall we escape, if we have neglected so great a salvation; which was first received when it was spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him; 4. God also bearing witness with them by both signs and wonders, and various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? 5. For it is not to the angels that He has placed in subjection the world that is to come, of which we are speaking. 6. But in a certain place one fully testified, saying, “What is man, that You are mindful of him, or the son of man, that You visit him? 7. You did make him a little lower than the angels; You did crown him with glory and honor, and You did set him over the works of Your hands; 8. You did put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that was not subjected to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him. 9. But we see Jesus, Who was made a little lower than the angels, crowned with glory and honor on account of suffering the death, in order that by the grace of God He Himself might taste death for everyone; (A Faithful Version)

2. 若是天使說的,聽的人在執行時不去辨別是否無誤,原來是違法和不服從的,便會得到相應的後果,
3. 人若是忽略這麼大的救恩,又怎可以躲過呢?主說的救恩是基督最先聽到,並且向我們證實。
4. 那麼神與這些聽到的一同見證,是藉記號和預兆 ,及聖靈引帶的各種奇事和恩典,
5. 這一切不是為天使,而是為我們一直談論,那位將會降服未來世界的。
6. 將來在某一處地方,有人認真作證,說:人算什麼,竟眷顧他!或是人子,竟來關愛他!
7. 這人子,確實比天使微小一點,卻賜給榮耀尊貴為冠冕,並派去管理神手所造的。
8. 神使萬物都服在基督的腳下。因萬物都服了,就沒有不服的,只是此刻仍未看到。
9. 我們是遇見過耶穌,雖說比天使微小一點,因基督的死卻得榮耀尊貴為冠冕,是神的恩典,為人人親嘗了死亡的滋味。
這段對話當中,因為有三個不同身份,描述的人沒有細分,恐怕是當時的受眾都能明白。只是流傳至今,到了大中華文化,因文化差異要明白,這三者之間就需要用明確的身份,才會明白作者以誰的身份述事。這段涉及三個身份:天使、將會降服未來世界的那位 (基督)、神。
這處說的天使,在猶太人或者穆斯林,都相信耶穌是天使中的一位,相信是低於神。穆斯林更進一步去解釋亞伯拉罕是先祖,是族長,而末世聖徒教會更有人自稱為先知再現,與耶穌同等。希伯來書的作者在此強烈去否定這個說法。作者不是去解釋或者辯駁耶穌不是天使,而是用他們起初相信的內容(v.3),用一種為僕和為兒子的一種關係(兒子v.1:7-8)說明,只有兒子才會體恤父親的心懷意念,才會用心用靈作出對事奉的回應,是因為了解,又因為愛。
作者更進一步解釋天使,有遵行神的旨意,卻不保證是對的,若不分辨出當中的好壞,後果自付。(v.1-2)。這二句說話很明顯,似乎是在提醒猶太人,不信耶穌是基督,就要承擔因此而來的後果。這處或許就是以色列祖先雅各一樣,錢是有的,卻在不安定中生活。也許對穆斯林說,以亞伯拉罕為一族之主,才會在生活上,以刀和經去強力迫人屈服,帶來的後果更加嚴重,這個當時的亞細亞至今日的中東,依舊不能平安渡日,像昔日的確各,心想求和卻不相信人有和平的可能。
作者描述神與基督的關係,就是今日信主所聽到的,與昔日跟隨耶穌和保羅所傳的,是那麼相同,這正如希伯來作者說:5-9 這些不是為天使,而是為相信耶穌的,就是將會降服未來世界的那位。在將來某一處地方,有人認真作證(今日各地方信耶穌的人),說:人算什麼,竟眷顧他!或是人子,竟來關愛他! 這人子,確實比天使微小一點,卻賜給榮耀尊貴為冠冕,並派去管理(以愛服待)神手所造的(人與世界)。 神使萬物都服(願意跟隨)在人子的腳下。因萬物都服了,就沒有不服的,只是此刻仍未看到。我們是遇見過耶穌,雖說比天使微小一點,因基督的死卻得榮耀尊貴為冠冕,是神的恩典,為人人親嘗了死亡 (心思失去了明辨) 的滋味。
這作者說的是何等的真,千年過後,回頭,還是那麼真,藉耶穌相信神,是件無憾的決定,造就了自己幫助了別人!也許有未體會的,未能明白希伯來書作者的邏輯,可以一起談一起進步。
