10. Because of this, I was indignant with that generation, and said, ‘They are always going astray in their hearts, and they have not known My ways.’

11. So I swore in My wrath, ‘If they shall enter into My rest—’ ”

12. Beware, brethren, lest perhaps there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in apostatizing from the living God.

13. Rather, be encouraging one another each day, while it is called “today,” so that none of you become hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

14. For we are companions of Christ, if we truly hold the confidence that we had at the beginning steadfast until the end.

15. As it is being said, “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion.”

16. For some, after hearing, did rebel, but not all who came out of Egypt by Moses.

17. But with whom was He indignant for forty years? Was it not with those who had sinned, whose dead bodies were strewn in the wilderness?

18. And to whom did He swear that they would not enter into His rest, except to those who had disobeyed?

19. So we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief. (A Faithful Version)

10. 因為受到這樣的對待，神對那一代人，說：你們心裡總會迷失方向，不明白我指的路向。

11. 會在一怒之下說出：你們休想進入我的安息之地。

12. 弟兄，要留心在意，也許有人懷著不信的邪心，背棄永生神。

13. 相反，要常常互相鼓勵，直至到「這日」，使你們誤以為犯錯後有嚴重後果的欺騙，就心裡剛硬 。

14. 我們是與基督為伴，若真有信心，就能從開始堅持到最後。

15. 正如一直都說的：這日，若是聽到，就不要硬心，好像要去叛亂一樣。

16. 有人會，聽後真的起叛，因為不是所有人，都願意跟隨摩西出埃及的。

17. 四十年來，對誰神不忿，不就是那些犯錯的人，他們的屍體都凌亂地散落在曠野

18. 是那些人，神起誓是不能抵達那應許之地？不就是些不順從的人。

19. 我們看到的，是因為不信導致不能進入。

希伯來書作者在這段描述跟摩西出埃及的人，當中有人不能到達那應許之地的原因。

作者說當人不信任神，就迷失人應有的行為準則。因為人所行是有自己的方向和原則，當中的理由或許是與生存有關。在曠野，那是一處經歷神供應的地方，人生有時就在這曠野之地，叫天，天不應。叫地，地不聞。叫神，就有回應，人就是不叫。當時的雅各，就是叫神，神出來，就是不求，要試試自己有多少力量。人可以各有選擇，神是容易，就連不去選擇也可以，一切後果，都與選擇有關。

作者就在當時的猶太人，用祖先的選擇為例子。也用人的惑受說出神的想法，都是愛心說誠實話，只是帶有人氣，是愛心的關切。當時的人沒有聽進，這是有幾多能聽進？

今日的處境，是否和當日相近？因為人進或者不進是個人的選擇，這個選擇在信或不信這個字上。
