1. Then I heard a loud voice from the temple say to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the vials of the wrath of God onto the earth.”
2. And the first angel went and poured out his vial onto the earth; and an evil and grievous sore fell upon the men who had the mark of the beast, and upon those who were worshiping his image.
3. And the second angel went and poured out his vial into the sea; and it became blood, like that of a dead man; and every living soul in the sea died.
4. And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers, and into the fountains of waters; and they became blood.

1. 七使者完事後，有大聲音從會幕傳來，向那七位使者說：把盛載神大怒的碗倒向地面。

2. 第一位使者把碗內的東西倒向地面。那些有著獸印和膜拜獸像的人，會心生邪念行事歹毒。

3. 第二位把碗內的東西倒向海面。海水就變得像死人流出的血水，令海中的活物全都死了。

4. 第三位把碗內的東西倒向河流與水源出處，水就成了血。

5. 這時聽見掌管眾水的使者，說：「昔在今在的聖者，你是公義的， 也實在去履行。

6. 這些膜拜偶像的，曾流干了聖徒和先知的血，給他們血喝，這是他們該得的。

7. 此刻，祭壇有聲音說：是的，全能神啊，你的判斷是何得真實而且公正。

這處描述使者作的事，看似是懲罰，對許多人的理解，人犯事神降罰，那是理所當然的事。對於人的理解是因為人犯事受罰是應該也必須，否則就天下大亂，這個觀念深入人心。只是，創造者不是，才會在新約中說明，也被譯成誡命，最大的是愛神愛人。這譯法對[愛]的意義是相反方向，因此才有因為愛才去責罰這不在同一個人性的邏輯上，也因此有慈母多敗兒的說法。慈母懂得去教導不會出敗兒，例如孟母三遷，是很傳統很古老的教導，這精神跟神的愛有共通之處。

上述的精神和原則若被接受，那麼這小說描述的形式，有這樣的心態，是因為接收的對象有這種根深柢固的想法，認為受罰是因神而來。在摩西的觀念也存在這樣的觀念，因為他受的是埃及治理之學，是由小到大。約翰是否明白這種精神和意念的差別，不知道，只是用小說的形式表述，對象是猶太人，是相對地合適。

究竟這碗裝的是什麼，沒有說明，可是倒出來產生的影響是明顯與人性及其生活到生存是有關。

第一個碗倒出產生的後果是：拜偶像的人，心態會變。拜偶像的人必有三種印記的影響，受過傷害、做傷天害理的事不會追悔、受各樣[虛]的事物，如666誘惑，這些盡失人性的行為。

第二個碗裝的是什麼？像死人的血水。那是一種影響，引人走向互相殘殺的死亡之路。

第三個碗裝的是什麼？水變血，已經是從源頭而出。水的源頭本是清，那是人心被創造是本相，因為拜偶像，就成了嗜血的源頭。人心不再清，受許多的誘惑，為此八福說：清心的人得見神。

這處描述是人敗壞的一個過程，由渴求各樣的虛榮，成了心中嚮往，成了志趣，成了奮鬥的目標，為求達到這理想，是可以用正途，可以用方法，可以去奮鬥，遇難仍不失為人。只有那貪又不用力的，會用邪魔外道的方式，不惜流人的血去達成，自己成了魔，也不覺有問題，那才是問題所在。

約翰有沒有這個意念不知道。只是這處的描述，似乎可以有這樣的引申。也許就是這小說被認為是啟示的緣因。
