7. Then the angel said to me, “Why are you amazed? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.
8. The beast that you saw was, and is not, but is about to come up out of the abyss and to go into perdition. And those who dwell on the earth, whose names are not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, shall be astonished when they see the beast that was, but is not, and yet is.

從17章起，那是另一種描述。以前展示的宏觀的世界，是天上的事，不過，從這章開始，是從現實的微觀看世事如何改變。

這回是一位使者拿七個碗。是用七個碗當中事物，去解釋對下界的影響。七個碗似乎從一開始介紹的七間猶太人的堂會有關：

1. 以弗所-失去愛神的心；2. 土每拿-服從撒旦；3.別迦摩-相信人的智慧；4.推雅推喇-甘心受誘惑；5.撒狄-領袖離開對神的承諾；6. 非拉鐵非-信的和不信的，手中有匙決定自己的命運；7. 老底嘉-不願成長的一群。

這七間會堂中的信眾，存在的信仰問題，它根源於龍的，就是古蛇那誘人上當的說法，認為人有智慧和能創出美好的前途這樣的誘惑。人是有這種能力，不假。好壞只在個人的選擇，這選擇就是一把匙，開或關那永生或永死的門。這龍的化身是何等艷麗何等風光的人生，更有能作大事的智慧，就如巴比倫，它在歷史中留下的成蹟，如天空之城，不是夢話是實際可呈現的事實，直到今日仍被稱為偉大。人的偉大，被人定義了，也可以自己去定義，為了堅持作一位有良心的人，在風雨飄搖的日子中，不為所動，算不算偉大？去爭取自存不惜犧牲別人，與爭取共存不怕犧牲自己，你說那個偉大？

行淫，這詞是描述一種誘惑，令一位正常人，原有的本性因誘惑而偏離，成了私慾，就是被污染了的眾水(每一位有本性良善的人)之源，這使世界或叫人間，當中一切的紛亂的緣因。

這事可否被人看清又明白？可以，人要具備應有的不被誘惑的智慧，就可以看得明白。因此，新約中有記述：清心的人得見神。
