1. After these things, Jesus crossed over the Sea of Galilee (or Sea of Tiberias);
2. And a great multitude followed Him, because they had seen the miracles that He worked upon those who were sick.
3. Then Jesus went up into a mountain and sat there with His disciples.
4. Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.
5. And when Jesus lifted up His eyes and saw a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “How shall we buy enough loaves to feed all these?”
6. But He said this to test him, because He knew what He was about to do.
7. Philip answered Him, “Two hundred silver coins would not be sufficient to buy enough loaves for each of them to receive a little.”
8. Then one of His disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to Him,
9. “Here is a little boy who has five barley loaves and two small fish; but what are these for so many people?”
10. Then Jesus said, “Have the men sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place; therefore the men sat down, about five thousand in number.
11. And Jesus took the loaves; and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting; and in like manner the small fish, as much as they desired.
12. And when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather together the fragments that are left over, so that nothing may be lost.”
13. Then they gathered them together, filling twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves, which were left over by those who had eaten.
14. Now when the men saw the miracle that Jesus had done, they said, “Of a truth, this is the Prophet Who was to come into the world.”
15. Because Jesus perceived that they were about to come and seize Him, so that they might make Him king, He withdrew again to a mountain by Himself alone. (A Faithful Version)

1. 這事以後，耶穌渡過加利利海（又稱提比哩亞海）。

2. 有許多人跟著耶穌，這些人是見過他在病人身上所行的奇事。

3. 耶穌選擇山路，與門徒一起坐在山上小休。

4. 此時正值猶太人的逾越節臨近。

5. 耶穌在山上環看四周，有許多人朝著他的方向而來，就對腓力說：可有能力買足夠的餅給他們用膳？

6. 耶穌這問，是要知道能買多少，早知道腓力會如何回答。

7. 腓力回應：只有二十兩銀子，買來分給各人是不夠。

8. 此時，有門徒，是西門彼得的兄弟安得烈，對腓力說：

9. 這裡有一個小孩，有五塊大麥餅和兩條小魚，看來這些是不夠分配。

10. 耶穌回應：只管叫眾人坐下。這時候的山地草很滿，眾人坐下，人數約有五千。

11. 耶穌拿起餅來祝謝了，就分給門徒。門徒轉分坐地的人，也分給小魚，想食多少就多少。

12. 一眾吃飽了後，耶穌對門徒說：把剩下的零碎收拾起來，免得糟蹋。

13. 眾人將剩下的收集起來，裝滿了十二個籃子的餅碎，

14. 眾人看見耶穌所行的神蹟，都說：講真，這位是先知，要到世間來。”

15. 此時，耶穌覺察這些人要來立他為王，就避開他們，獨自一人退到山上。

耶穌在上次聚會之後，在加利利乘船到了某一處，隨船一起的有因為耶穌的聲名揚開了，這是因為在畢士大池那個事 (v.2)。

到了上耶路撒冷路上，碰上有些人，看到耶耶穌，便朝他的方向走去。沒有說明時間，最有可能就是早上或中午時份，也許是春天這個季節，因為山上的草長得很滿(v.10)，便行了一件奇蹟。

這奇蹟是用五節二魚讓五千人飽腹。此事帶來了後果，在五千人當中有人想擁戴耶穌為王。

約翰似乎是著眼於這些人要擁戴耶穌為王這事上，耶穌的反應是離他們，避到山上某處，這就很有意思：耶穌似乎不想被人擁為王。為什麼？

為王，這詞可以是領袖、KOL、有影響力及說事的能力，是權威的象徵，是世人在求生或者作為人存在嚮往的價值所在，是一生奮鬥，改善生活的目標 (對沒有家底的人而言)。耶穌不想，這舉動內中就可能有更深的一層信仰的意義，那是什麼？

耶穌當然可以選擇放棄這樣的影響力，他本來就有，是使命的驅使。在人看來，有影響力不是更容易完成任務？當時的耶穌是人的身份，為王需要的是人，人愈多權力就愈大，怎麼不用這身份？今日有許多著述，都向人推廣要成功就學耶穌，意思是有能力就是成功了一半。

能力，有許多的化身，當被人欣賞，就產生了魅力，就會成為領袖的可能。領袖可以做很多事，耶穌卻獨自離開，這舉動是避開，還是讓自己冷靜？

被人推舉為王，成就福音大業，不是很好嗎？人人都想去跟從領袖，這心願早就出現過，現在仍繼續，都不甘願擁有看似平凡的一生。教會也在推薦這方式，去得獎賞。
