12. But the one who is a hireling, and who is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep, and flees. And the wolf seizes the sheep and scatters them.
13. Now the hireling flees because he is a hireling and has no concern for the sheep.
14. I am the good Shepherd, and I know those who are Mine, and am known of those who are Mine.
15. Just as the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
16. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring those also, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd.
17. On account of this, the Father loves Me: because I lay down My life, that I may receive it back again.

12. 若是僱來看羊，他不是牧人，羊不屬於他，看見狼來，自己就撇下羊逃生。狼捕獲了一只，其他被嚇得四散。

20. 當中有許人認為，這人是被鬼附身，發了瘋，就不要聽他說。

21. 有人認為，這些話不是鬼附身的人能說出來，鬼那有能力叫瞎眼的看見？

這處有句很札眼的說話，耶穌說他是牧羊的人，只是有人是被僱用來看羊？這說話是有所指，指的是什麼？

按約翰的描述，找耶穌麻煩的是法利賽人，就是在信仰事上有發言權的人。這些人就如尼哥底母一樣，是管理猶太人有關信仰等事的領袖。若耶穌自認為牧羊人，猶太人是羊，那麼管理猶太人事務的，似乎是受俸祿的管理階層，就是受僱看羊的人了。

https://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/12087-pharisees 當中有一段解說法利實人為何是偽善之人，也許這偽善的地方，就是耶穌用受僱這種類似的心態去形容的用意，不是真心實意表達信仰。

耶穌的重點不在受薪或者沒有受薪這方面，而是在於一為提升人的生命質素，另一是為自己的名望權力。這二者之間的差別，一種是聽到人的心聲，一種只看重自己的私意。有大事臨到，一種是以生命與之同行，另一種是自己走人。一種體恤人的軟弱，另一種責難為何軟弱。

耶穌作為人，就是用人的生命與相信的人，二者的生命有生息與共的關係，因此能體會人的軟弱。人的軟弱不是發於自人本性，是社會的因素造成，人對這因素是無法逃避。卻因為耶穌，藉他相信神，知道有位創造者，從遠古時代一直都等著，只要願意，就會給相信的人能力，改變他面對人生的無奈，朝向美滿的人生。這人生超越社會的規範，因為有愛，不受其約束，為此許多時都能超乎律法的要求，因為有愛而來那赦免的權力。

這種愛，它是從認識神而來，與軟弱的人同行，是自願，不是強制。付出是有對象，也看對象的回應 (vs,17-18 : 父愛我，是因為我願意為羊捨命，就能將羊帶回來。我捨命並不是因為被人奪去，是自願，是神給人的權力，可以按自己的意思付出或收回。這是我從父那裡得到的囑咐)。

耶穌會為人捨命，是自願，不是受僱而為，當中有份可以自主的權力，並不免強，自然流露。
