20. Remember the word that I spoke to you: a servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you also. If they kept My word, they will keep your word also.
21. But they will do all these things to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him Who sent Me.
22. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have nothing to cover their sin.
23. The one who hates Me hates My Father also.
24. If I had not done among them the works that no other man has done, they would not have had sin; but now they have both seen and hated both Me and My Father.

20. 我說過的，你要記住。僕人不比主人大。這些人若是迫害我，也會迫害你。這些人若信我的話，也會聽你的話。

21. 這些人是會對你做出這些事，只因為我的名，這些人不明白是神差我來。

22. 我若不曾到來，也不曾傳講，這些人就不會做這等錯事。但現在，就無法掩蓋所犯的錯。

23. 對我發怒，是不喜歡我的父。

24. 若是不曾在這些人當中說過或者做過事，這些人也就不曾犯錯。但現在，都親眼見過又聽過，卻是不喜歡我也不喜歡父。

25. 這些事既已發生，那麼在律法書上所記載：有人無緣無故地恨我。被應驗了。

26. 只是，那安慰師，是從我父差來，是真理的靈，他來，是為我作證。

27. 你們同樣為我作證，因為是從起初，就一直與我同在。

耶穌在這段的表白，真是對人性的表現，作出一針見血的描述：信眾被人排擠甚或迫害，不是傳講道理這個人，是耶穌傳講那光明之道所致。這是可等真實的事！就算老友，都可以因為信仰不同而反目，稱得是老友，總會比別人有多點認識，可以，說反就反。那是為什麼？

如果是道理本身，最可能的解釋，就是你說的道理，正正是這人持守與這道理相反的。例如如愛人，他慣了使人；又如說放下，就是放不下等諸如此類，是尊嚴被侵犯的後果。你是勸說，他認為的論斷，不發火，自己不就是好欺負的人嗎？這是血性行事，體貼肉身的表達。

耶穌說，我不同這些人講光明之道，這些人就不會發火，也就不會犯錯。人發火，不是因為你，是因為你傳講的道理 (v.22-25)。

這安慰師是誰？在你被人誤解的時候出現，那是應許，有幾多信眾能體會出來？有你一份嗎？
