10. Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on one of the Sabbaths;
11. And lo, there was a woman who had been afflicted with a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years, and she was bent over and unable to straighten herself up.
12. And when He saw her, Jesus called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you have been loosed from your infirmity.”
13. Then He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God.
14. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, and said to the people, “There are six days in which men are obligated to work; therefore, during those days come and be healed, but not on the Sabbath day.”
15. Therefore, the Lord answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to drink?
16. And is it not just as necessary for this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, eighteen years, to be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?”
17. And after He said these things, all those who opposed Him were ashamed; and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were being done by Him.
18. Then He said, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?
19. It is like a tiny mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden; and it grew and developed into a great tree, and the birds of heaven roosted in its branches.”
20. And again He said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God?
21. It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour until all was leavened.” (A Faithful Version)
10. 這是在一個安息日發生,耶穌正在會堂裡教導。
11. 有婦人,靈裡虛弱整整十八年,腰都彎得直不起來。
12. 耶穌看到,叫她過來說:婦人,你靈裡的虛弱已經好了。
13. 耶穌按手在她身上,婦人便隨即得到釋放,立起身子來,口中發出讚美。
14. 管會堂看見這事,感到非常不高興,緣因是在安息日治病。很氣憤地對眾人說:有六日可以去辦事,在這期間內受醫治可以,安息日就不能。
15. 主就此作出回應:真是虛偽,你們在安息日不都讓牛或驢鬆綁,去喝水嗎?
16. 對這婦人是有必要,她是亞伯拉罕後裔,被撒但纏繞了十八年,在安息日將之釋放豈不應該?
17. 耶穌說了這番話,反對的人都感羞愧。同時也因行之恰當,眾人為此感到歡欣。
18. 耶穌說:怎樣去描述彌賽亞的國度?該用什麼去說明?
19. 就用芥菜籽說明。有人拿籽撒在菜園,經過一段日子發芽長大成樹,飛鳥就棲宿在它的枝上。
20. 耶穌再次猶豫:用什麼去表達這彌賽亞的國度?
21. 用發粉作比該是恰當,它像婦人拿來發粉,藏在某個份量的麵粉裡,讓整團粉發起來一樣。
這段似乎是表達一個觀念:人的思維一旦被釋放出來,那是不可想像的事,彌賽亞國度會因此得以快速地成長。
耶穌教導的時候,也許就是在會堂,當時看到一位婦女受精神困擾足有18年。這困擾的成因是自己思想上的掙扎,也許有信仰上的掙扎,耶穌說得釋放,這婦人便被釋放。當中也許有些細節未被記錄,這是可以理解,最後婦人得到精神上的釋放卻是個事實。
此事看在會堂的管事身上,就觸動了律法的神經,安息日不可作這些事。

耶穌對於守規矩的事,似乎有個原則,或者稱之為輕重之別,當然這輕重的定義也有爭議。只是這處的情況沒有引起更大的反响,原因是這婦人的身份,是亞伯拉罕之後。耶穌是否有意利用事件去說明一個重要的觀念,那是肯定。
因為這個守安息日的觀念,在猶太人那裡被解放出來,影響更很大。大的程度可以去到那?耶穌用芥菜籽生長的現象去說明人若思想不被困擾,像那婦人,受到長期的影響,一旦被釋放的時候,內裡產生出來的動力,是無法估量。彌賽亞的國度會因此大大的擴展開去,而且是健健康康。
這是個很重要的觀念,因為人就是在傳統的禮教當中生活過來。其有維繫社會秩序安定進步的作用,只是也有其副作用,讓守法的人變得不夠靈活去應對日常的變化。因為條例是死,社會情況是多變。守條例是有穩定作用。若守原則能活化社會各項功能,那是了不起的覺悟。因此保羅在這方面的體會是:靈巧純良。這是應對事物方面的原則,對於守法的人,把握原則,比守法重要。保羅就是以守割禮為例,不是肉身守,是心靈去守。也許有些人正正是在守與不守之間,在現實中產生心理矛盾,精神受困,心中有許多掙扎,又不敢去違背社會規範,內心有掙扎卻沒有出路,足有18年之久。
那是內心掙扎擔心又沒有出路,形成心理精神的困擾。守法是人的世界裡面一種和平進步的現象。這守法的事在西方普遍被接受,因此過馬路時,沒有車輛都依舊站在原地,等轉燈,是西方的文化傳承下來的美德。東方文化不一樣,因為是家天下,家中老大話事,他可以守法可以不守法,規矩他定可以守也可以不守。在統治者身上,華人傳統是君權神授,因此作王可以對人有生殺之權不用理由。在信者而言,若是這王的心被神去掌管的時候,就是另一番滋味:箴言21.1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD as the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He will. (A Faithful Version)王的心若在神的手心,思維就如壟溝裡的水,神的心意隨意流轉。若這事發生在整個社會,可是一件不可想像的事。
若信神的,他那份心思,放給神去掌管,讓其心意無阻地在人的心思中運轉,那麼彌賽亞的國度,擴展的速度就不可想像。像芥菜籽一樣,放進人心內,發芽長成,一個接一個,這籽有的本質,就以一個很驚人的速度伸展,那麼末日也許就不會來。末日來是芥菜籽很快沒有。
華人社會的信眾要去打破這種思維,實在不容易。這信是給提阿非羅,在羅馬政府下,他們守法和執法相對上是嚴格,有例外,不算普遍。這觀念提阿非羅是明白,就不知會否去追隨基督。
