4. And he went away, and spoke with the chief priests and the captains about a way by which he might betray Him to them.

5. And they rejoiced, and agreed to give him money.

耶穌當時作息的時間是早上傳道晚間在橄欖山過夜。從住宿的地方前往耶路撒冷在3-4公里的範圍，腳程在一小時之內。

這篇描述像是揭露耶穌被人的私慾趕到了絕路，提早去過逾越節。逾越節在節日是記念猶太人當日被拯救時，要宰一隻羔羊，用牠的血沾在門楣，便可逃過一劫得以拯救去埃及。

只是，今日不與昔日同。耶穌是被出賣

路加大膽地揭露當時耶穌被賣的真實狀況，原來是猶大被私心誘惑。經文的描述是撒但撩撥猶大的心，在希伯來文及在此處，是專有名詞，譯作[對手]是教為適切。

路加這樣的描述，對 [出賣] 當中細節的形容，非常切合現實的場景。這些作出出賣自己和出賣朋友的人，形容他們受撒旦的引誘似乎並無不妥之處，它是人心中在選擇的過程中必然經過 [撒旦引誘] 這樣的階段。

猶大出賣耶穌，這事耶穌如何得知不曉得。耶穌確實為這事安排，預早同使徒一起用逾越節這記念的晚宴，一種帶著充滿救贖意義的聚會。耶穌就是那被宰的羔羊，為此路加描述時用 [必須] 去形容，為的是沒有耶穌的代贖，人就不會有轉機，死路一條。只是耶穌時代的人先死，之後是今時今日的，再往後就是各人的後代，等耶穌再來看如何處理。

提阿非羅，你一定知道耶穌被彼拉多與祭司長和文士，再加法利賽人等，直接或間接地，完成了除掉耶穌這事。不曉得看到這信時，感覺如何。也許是這些陰謀，甚或是陽謀的事，閣下見得比誰都多，不以為怪。只是彌賽亞也許會有點不同，因為他的人生帶有使命，作贖祭的羔羊。經此一事，人透過相信耶穌，便與神和好。人也有使命約承了耶穌，向身邊的人作見證，因為有被差的作見證的使命，完成了就回到耶和華的左邊。你有這樣的潛質，相信會有明確的選擇。
