1. Now in that same day, Jesus departed from the house and sat down by the sea.

2. And so great a multitude gathered around Him that He went into a ship and sat down, and all the multitude stood on the shore.

3. And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, “Behold, the sower went out to sow.

4. And as he was sowing, some of the seed fell by the way; and the birds came and devoured them.

5. And some fell upon the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up because the soil was not deep enough;

6. But after the sun rose, they were scorched; and because they did not have roots, they dried up.

7. And some of the seed fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them.

8. And some fell upon the good ground, and yielded fruit—some a hundredfold, and some sixtyfold, and some thirtyfold.

9. The one who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

1. 就在同一天，耶穌從住房中出來，閒坐在海旁之際。

2. 卻來了一大群人圍在周邊，被迫上了船，眾人站在岸邊。

3. 耶穌在船上就用比喻去講解，用的是一個撒種的比喻，

4. 說在撒種的時候，有種子落在路旁，飛鳥來吃掉了。

5. 有種子落在滿是石子上，因為泥土淺，很快發芽。正因為土淺，

6. 當太陽高升，就被曬焦，因為根短，無水枯萎。

7. 有種子落在荊棘裡，荊棘長起來，擠住了。

8. 有種子落在好土裡，結出果實來，有結一百倍，有結六十倍，有結三十倍。

9. 有耳可聽的，就應當聽。

這個比喻很直接，似乎是說，人在作見證或傳講福音時，它能產生的效果：

1.  有不信的反應：原因有a. 接受的人不理會；b.接受的人聽得快也忘記得快；c.有些聽到了，只是心根需淨，仍有許多雜念叢生，因為心房潔淨卻留空，就是沒有恰當的填補，便讓許多魔進來打擾，活不出信仰。

2. 有相信後的結果：a. 自己很努力去成長，是完全的明白成長：b.自己在追尋認識上也算努力，也有一定的成果；c.相對於前二者，這位成長是較慢，當然有許多因素，也在成長。

在第9節，The one who has ears to hear, let him hear.  在原文的意思是，若人能聽得進耳，自當會明白。

i.e. Who to have the ear what is or has been said to understand, perceive the sense of what is said to hear.

因此，上述能明白比喻意思的人，和不明白比喻意思的人，他們當中會有的分別。

便明白這不信，和相信之間的差別和分歧。當傳福音或作見證時，遇到不同的反應，因為明白，就曉得從三種反應中，再制定福音的策略，方式就會不同，是從理解出發而不是盡義務，當然因為明白，也就沒有不可成為朋友或是 [親人] 的可能，絕不會成為敵人 (別人用什麼態度待你那是他的問題)。至於在教會的兄弟姊妹間，因為明白，有不同成長的程度，就不關乎年齡，是行為的表達。自己心中有底，便能從別人的表達，分辨出自己在信仰的成熟程度，就明白要朝那個方式成長或那個方向收歛。若有樣的認識，大家就少了許多怨言和閒話，更能在互相體諒與扶持上一起在信仰的深度上成長。 這段說話的對象是當日的慕道者，相信當中有不同信仰深淺程度的，這番話若放在這樣的情況下理解，也許同樣能給以後讀經的人有所提示，時代不同原則無變，相信是可以通用。
