1. And it came to pass that when Jesus had finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee and came to the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan.

2. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.

3. Then the Pharisees came to Him and tempted Him, saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause?”

4. But He answered them, saying, “Have you not read that He Who made them from the beginning made them male and female,

5. And said, ‘For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh’?

6. So then, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

7. They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”

8. He said to them, “Because of your hardheartedness, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it was not so.

9. And I say to you, whoever shall divorce his wife, except it be for sexual immorality, and shall marry another, is committing adultery; and the one who marries her who has been divorced is committing adultery.”

10. His disciples said to Him, “If that is the case of a man with a wife, it is better not to marry.”

11. But He said to them, “Not everyone can receive this word, but only those to whom it has been given.

12. For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who is able to receive it, let him receive it.”

13. Then little children were brought to Him, so that He might lay His hands on them and pray for them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

14. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

15. And after laying His hands on them, He departed from there.

1. 耶穌談完寬恕之後,就從加利利往約旦河東的猶大邊界。

2. 許多人到來,就在那裡進行醫治。

3. 法利賽人來試探他,問:是否無論用什麼理由都可以合法地休妻?

4. 耶穌回應:你們都知道,起初耶和華造男造女,

5. 並且說:人要離開父母,與妻子聯合,二人成為一體。

6. 既然如此,夫妻不再是兩人,乃是一體。所以,神所配合,人不可分開。

7. 法利賽人又問:為何摩西可以讓人寫休書,休妻呢?

8. 耶穌回說:摩西了解人心硬,無汰改變才準休妻。原先不是這樣。

9. 我想你們明白,休妻另娶,理由不是妻子淫亂,這人犯了姦淫。娶被休之妻,同犯姦淫。

10. 使徒聽後,反應說:男人娶妻,若 有這種情況出現,還是不娶為妙。

11. 耶穌回應:這道理不是人人都明,惟獨心存關懷的人,才會明白。

12. 有人從母體出生,就失去了生育能力的;有因人為的意外做成的;有專心彌賽亞事奉的。各類別當中的,誰能領受,自己領受便可。

13.  此時,有小孩被帶到耶穌面前,好讓為他按手禱告,使徒卻指責那帶小孩到來的人。

14. 耶穌平和地說:讓小孩到我這裡來,不要阻止,天國是屬於這樣的人。

15.  其後,耶穌給小孩按了手後便離離開。

v.1  the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan: 狹義上指巴勒斯坦南部,即約旦河和死海以西的地區,以區別於撒瑪利亞、加利利、比利亞和以東。今日廣義上指整個巴勒斯坦地區。

這段描述在中文聖經的翻譯,特別在第12節:一般的譯法是  –  12因為有人從母腹裏就是不宜結婚的,也有因人為的緣故不宜結婚的,並有為天國的緣故自己不結婚的。這話誰能領受,就領受吧  (和合本2010年網上版)。在理解上有不通的地方,如,為何從母親出身不宜結婚?整句就接不上前文後理。若用不能或不去生育而生育,到為福音緣故不去結婚生育,整段意思就明確多。Eunuch G2135 解釋有多種,當中有不能生育,譯作不宜結婚,似乎過份含蓄就模糊了。 (註:舊版本用中文宮庭太監的遭遇,被 [去勢] ,這翻譯更為模糊)

這巴勒斯坦地當時似乎也屬迦南地的範圍。

耶穌依舊對跟隨的人行了許多奇事,再一次引來法利賽人的提問:為什麼摩西準人去休妻?

耶穌用最源始,就是為何有男女性同時出現的緣因。這個基本源因似乎從來沒有神學上的解說,或者解說的清楚。直至20世紀有一本 《男女大不同》的書在英中文界大為暢銷,似乎才意識當中男女不同的意義。法利賽人的提問,似乎是問:沒有男女就沒有淫亂,沒有淫亂就不會有休妻的出現,而休妻是摩西定下來的規矩,我們守摩西的規矩,有問題,那是什麼問題?

耶穌回應男女本為一體,就更有意思,只是不僅法利賽人不懂,事實許多人都不懂。(v.7-11)

這處嘗試解答:

首先問題的背景。當時猶太人社會是男尊女卑,這是文人的分類,事實若按創造主的心意,那是男女不同的互補。互補可以有許多方面,例如看法不同就有不同處理的方法;又如身體結構不同,合作就有了後代的誕生。後代是人老了,在那個全靠自己生存,老了就得有新生力的幫助;男女不同的知識,同時可以讓新生代減少獲取知識的時間,同時加快了應對的能力。這時初時男女之間可以產生的社會功能。有了這不斷增長的功能,人就更有能力對世界作出管理,是世界和人一起進步。

可惜,在猶太人的例子看到,當男人以為搵食要靠他,男人就成為社會的支撐,這是個假象。男人主導世界就成了二千多年的觀念,直到今曰20世紀有了少許變化。當時的法利賽人,是懂得如何立規矩的,一切都按他們定下的規矩辦,才是正軌的觀念產生。這些人有能,正因為有,才會產生自大的心態。這心態同時成了人與人之間的問題,也將人與耶和華的關係隔離。

這種自大的心態,沒有失去分辨的能力,卻因為沒有自控,就不會尊重愛好和平心態,互讓互愛成了弱者,就像婦女柔性中的母愛一樣,這樣子的愛是敗家仔出現的緣因。這位男士成了一家之主,也成了社會普遍的認同。今日在華人社會,依舊持這樣觀念的人,外表看來不是,內裡卻十足保存。受教是最好的表達,耶穌就不受教,成了不受歡迎,破壞法紀,惑人犯法之流。

這一切,都看人為何生存,如何生存有關。耶穌指出,男女本就不同,不同不是爭論的起因,是因為被誤解,誤解是因為人的自私,心無關懷 (v.11) ,因此不明所致。人約似子孩,單純不是無知更沒有私的觀念,這人就被祝福。
