17. And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.
18. And Irad was born to Enoch. And Irad begat Mehujael, and Mehujael begat Methusael, and Methusael begat Lamech.
19. And Lamech took two wives to himself: the name of the first one was Adah, and the name of the other was Zillah.
20. And Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.
21. And his brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who corruptly play the lyre and the pipe.
22. And Zillah also bore Tubal-Cain, an instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubal-Cain was Naamah.
23. And Lamech said to his wives, Adah and Zillah, “Hear my voice, wives of Lamech, hearken to my words, for I have killed a man because he wounded me, a young man because he hurt me;
24. For if Cain is avenged seven times, then truly Lamech is avenged seventy-seven times.”
25. And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and called his name Seth, for she said, “God has appointed me another seed in place of Abel, whom Cain killed.”
26. And there was also a son born to Seth, and he called his name Enos. At that time men began to call upon the name of the LORD.
17. 該隱與妻子同房,懷孕生了以諾。給兒子起名以諾,也建一座城用以諾為名。
18. 以諾生以拿。以拿生米戶雅利,米戶雅利生瑪土撒利,瑪土撒利生拉麥。
19. 拉麥娶了兩位妻子,一叫亞大,一叫洗拉。
20. 亞大生雅八,雅八是那些住帳篷,養牲畜為生之人的先祖。
21. 雅八的兄弟叫猶八,是彈琴吹笛之人的先祖。
22. 至於洗拉,生下土八該隱。土八該隱是青銅和鐵工匠的師祖。土八該隱有位妹妹叫拿瑪。
23. 拉麥對妻子亞大和洗拉說:拉麥的女人,聽我說,留心聽,有個人傷了我,是個年青人,被我殺了。
24. 如果殺該隱會遭報七次,那麼殺拉麥會遭報七十次。
25. 亞當與妻子生了一個兒子,起名塞特,原因是:耶和華給我留後,代替被該隱殺了的亞伯。
26. 塞特生了一個兒子,叫以挪士。那時,人開始去求告耶和華的名。
這段描述該隱的子孫,過了五代,歷史重演。第五代孫拉麥,一氣之下殺了人,懂得引用前例,覺得有特權,且比他祖先更多。V.24 如果殺該隱會遭報七次,那麼殺拉麥會遭報七十次。
該隱事件發展似乎是超乎想像,他似乎受到教訓,他四代的子孫,都有他的知識和智慧,懂得創造謀生和自娛的工具,畜牧業是牧民的生活方式,今日仍舊存在這種生活方式。直至第五代,人性再次不受控制,自己受了點傷,就把人殺了。他了解祖先該隱殺了人,耶和華應許會保護,若有人傷他,會七倍嘗還。於是想,耶和華對他會更為保護。這是有恃寵而驕的心態,他是看表面,沒有細思他先祖是如何得來這保護,是因為有悔意。這位五代傳人一點悔意都沒有,或是信心十足,他早就從該隱得到了教訓?
亞當夏娃有這個兒子(該隱),抱著什麼心情,不曉得。他倆再有了另一兒子,起名塞特。他們的生活起了大變化,懂得敬畏耶和華。
這段記載似乎有個重點:有人經歷過改變了,對耶和華明白更多,懂得其心意產生了敬畏。有人同樣經歷過,卻變得更加自傲,錯認有耶和華靠背,自己就像[神]無所不能。從宏觀看,世界的大局也在此顯明。第一面是個人的自我澎漲,誤解[神]的鼓勵和保障。另一面是因為親身經歷的體會,如男的出力女的生育產生的勞苦和痛,它帶有一種提醒。人受這樣的遭遇,現實不能逃避的,明白,儆醒以至自控,就能尋回昔日的樂園。
摩西沒有說當二者相遇的時候該如何處,是反映事實。那麼在現實,沒有遇上就各自為之。若是遇上,該如何處理?
註:拉麥身份的引申:該隱的第五代直系子孫。是亞大和洗拉的丈夫,有三個兒子雅八、猶大和土巴該隱,以及一個女兒拿瑪的父親。似乎沒有什麼成就的記載。只是他的兒子有,不代表他有。他的豪氣從何而來?
