1. This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.

2. He created them male and female and blessed them, and He called their name Adam in the day when they were created.

3. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years and begat a son in his own likeness, after his own image, and he called his name Seth.

4. And the days of Adam after he begat Seth were eight hundred years. And he begat sons and daughters.

5. And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years. And he died.

6. And Seth lived one hundred and five years and begat Enos.

7. And after he begat Enos, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years. And he begat sons and daughters.

8. And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years. And he died.

9. And Enos lived ninety years and begat Cainan.

10. And after he begat Cainan, Enos lived eight hundred and fifteen years. And he begat sons and daughters.

11. And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years. And he died.

12. And Cainan lived seventy years and begat Mahalaleel.

13. And after he begat Mahalaleel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years. And he begat sons and daughters.

14. And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years. And he died.

15. And Mahalaleel lived sixty-five years and begat Jared.

16. And after he begat Jared, Mahalaleel lived eight hundred and thirty years. And he begat sons and daughters.

17. And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred and ninety-five years. And he died.

18. And Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years and begat Enoch.

19. And after he begat Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years. And he begat sons and daughters.

20. And all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years. And he died.

1. 這是亞當的後代記在冊。神創造人的日子，是照自己的形象造的。

2. 神造男造女，賜福給他們，在他們被造的那日，稱他們為亞當。

3. 亞當活到一百三十歲，生了一個兒子，外形和自己相似，就給他起名叫塞特。

4. 亞當生塞特後，又活了八百年，生兒育女。

5. 亞當共活了九百三十歲，就死了。

6. 塞特活了一百零五年，生了以挪士。

7. 塞特生以挪士後，又活了八百零七年，並且生兒育女。

8. 塞特共活了九百一十二歲，就死了。

9. 以挪士活了九十年，生了該南。

10. 以挪士生該南後，又活了八百一十五年，並且生兒育女。

11. 以挪士共活了九百零五年，就死了。

12. 該南活了七十年，生了瑪勒列。

13. 該南生瑪勒列後，又活了八百四十年，並且生兒育女。

14. 該南共活了九百一十年，就死了。

15. 瑪勒列活了六十五年，生了雅列。

16. 瑪勒列生雅列後，又活了八百三十年，並且生兒育女。

17. 瑪勒列共活了八百九十五歲，就死了。

18. 雅列活了一百六十二歲，生了以諾。

19. 雅列生以諾後，又活了八百年，並且生兒育女。

20. 雅列共活了九百六十二歲，就死了。

按上一段的記述，記載了亞當和夏娃離開了伊甸園，生了該隱和亞伯。該隱因誤解耶和華喜悅的出發點，一時血氣殺了亞伯，便被懲處離開了父母，要獨立並移向更東的方向。他生育了五代，這五代人聰明能幹，對耶和華敬畏，該隱最早的一位兒子是以諾。這處記載亞當和夏娃再生了一胎，兒子叫塞特，是敬畏耶和華，他最後的一位子孫是以諾。

這處把亞當的從新的記載，當中有個特色，那是信仰重整，產生世紀新一頁。但凡有錯能改的，就是能守住耶和華那份心意：人有自由，能改是因為能自控，以此把智慧運用於人生當中，也能得享長壽。人長壽是不受世事牽累這因素有關？

只是亞當的子孫記載到最後，看到了一位曾熟識的名字：以諾。這名字在該隱那最初的兒子相同：以諾。這位以諾，他擁有一城，稱為以諾之城，會是同一位？如果是，當中的緣由是怎樣？
