耶和華的事，不謀利沒有版權

1. And the LORD appeared to him in the plains of Mamre, and he sat at the tent door in the heat of the day.

2. And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and lo, three men stood by him. And when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground.

3. And he said, “My LORD, if now I have found favor in Your sight, do not pass away, I pray, from Your servant.

4. Let a little water, I pray, be brought, and wash Your feet, and rest under the tree.

5. And I will bring a bite of bread, and will comfort your hearts. After that You shall pass on, for this is why You have come to Your servant.” And they said, “Do so, as you have said.”

6. And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, “Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal; knead it, and make cakes.”

7. And Abraham ran out to the herd and brought a calf, tender and good. And he gave it to a young man. And he hurried to dress it.

8. And he took butter and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree, and they ate.

9. And they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?” And he said, “Behold, in the tent.”

10. And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and lo, Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah heard at the tent door which was behind Him.

11. Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in days, and it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

12. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have become old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

13. And the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I, who am old, truly bear a child?’

14. Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return again, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

15. Then Sarah denied, saying, “I did not laugh;” for she was afraid. And He said, “No, but you did laugh.”

1. 耶和華在幔利平原向亞伯蘭顯現時，烈日當空，他就坐在帳篷口。

2. 舉頭望日的時候，見有三人出現，就從帳篷口，起來去迎接，伏地行禮。

3. 說：大人，如果不嫌棄，就不要客氣，留下來，

4. 讓我拿點水，給你人們洗洗腳，在樹下稍作休息。

5. 也可以用一些糕點，休息一會。再繼續趕路也不遲，能在此相遇也是緣份。他們說：既然如此，就麻煩了。

6. 於是，亞伯拉罕急忙去預備。到帳篷叫撒拉幫忙，說：快去搓粉造餅，預備三份人的點心。

7. 隨即自己跑到牛攔，把一頭又嫩又好的牛犢，讓一年輕人宰殺。

8. 一切備妥，亞伯蘭取了奶油、牛奶和煮熟的牛仔肉，送到三人面前。他們就在樹下用起餐來。

9. 當中有人發問：你的妻子撒萊在嗎？亞伯蘭回說：就在帳篷裡。

10. 這人隨答：我會回來找你，到時，你妻子撒萊己經有一男孩。撒萊正在帳棚外，聽到他們的對話。

11. 亞伯蘭和撒萊那時年紀老邁，撒萊也過了女性生育的年齡。

12. 撒萊聽後心裡暗笑：都這麼老，主公也老，還能生育？

13. 耶和華望住亞伯拉罕，問撒萊為何好笑？她回說：都一把年紀，能生嗎？

14. 在耶和華豈有難成的事？撒萊有兒子出生那日，便會再來。

15. 撒拉聽到那問，便否認，說：沒有笑，只為太突然。耶和華說：確實笑了。

這章描述的場景，似乎是回到與羅得分開之後那段時間。因此為了把事件看得清楚，人名就用改名之前，亞伯蘭和擻萊以此識別。這是記述亞伯蘭的不信與耶和華的應許如何落實，這不信是源於超乎人的想像。

亞伯蘭從埃及回到伯特利，因為土地不足以讓當時聚居的人有足夠牧養的空間，就與羅得分享財富再分手。羅得朝所多瑪方向，亞伯蘭仍舊在迦南地某處。有日，在帳篷外乘涼之際，就遇到有三位旅客。

就出來迎接，盡地主之誼，要款待他們，這些人也不客氣，留下來。(也許是中東人好客，在貧瘠的地方，供旅客一個方便，養成了這種待客之道，是環境做成)

來客有三位。該怎解釋？

這篇是從文本展現的生活常識作出文字上的調整，不是傳統的文字直譯，只為想看到文意本身，那是人人可以用常識去理解和明白。

如果從後來的新約去追索，新約是有三位一體的觀念：父子靈。這三位一體是後來，從新約出領悟出來的觀念，似乎能配合整個信仰歷史，作出一個合理的解釋：創造者又稱耶和華、耶穌，是道成肉身 (約翰的領受)、以及聖靈在耶穌以後，貫乎眾人之內。這種組合出現，回看舊約，應用在此，那是預兆，當時不明，現在可作參考。更重要可能它是這約之所以能夠延續的一重要安排，讓後來的人更能體會，耶和華是信實可靠，這三合一體，因為不在肉體去理解，是在心靈 (保羅對割禮的理解)。

在這事件，它主要是讓亞伯蘭明白，耶和華說過他子孫萬代，雖然有許多緣因，在環境不許可下，沒能生下一子作為後繼，今回耶和華以真身向他顯現，唯一的作用：我是真實，大可以相信。

這事件，有違人的常理。對，這是相信的最大應許：有超乎人想像的可能。它是相信的人，信心的考驗，特別在覺得沒有可能的時候。人，什麼時候可以體會？放下理性，真的耐心等候。

亞伯蘭等了多久才等到以撒出世？當中又經歷過什麼？這漫長的日子，是有信的人必經的過程。之所以如此漫長，也許就是在安排的過程當中，是順其發展而為，不是人相像，既然是 [神] 為什麼不可以？ 那是私慾不是智慧。
