耶和華的事，不謀利沒有版權

10. And Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran.

11. And he came upon a certain place, and stayed there all night because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and placed it at his head. And he lay down in that place to sleep.

12. And he dreamed. And behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven! And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!

13. And behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, “I am the LORD, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your seed.

14. And your seed shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south. And in you and in your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

15. And, behold, I am with you, and will keep you in every place where you go, and will bring you again into this land, for I will not leave you until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”

16. And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.”

17. And he was afraid and said, “How fearful is this place! This is nothing but the house of God, and this is the gate of Heaven!”

18. So Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone which he had put at his head, and set it as a memorial pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.

19. And he called the name of that place The House of God.

20. Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “Since God will be with me, and will keep me in the way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,

21. And I come again to my father’s house in peace, then shall the LORD be my God.

22. And this stone which I have set for a pillar shall be God’s house. And of all that You shall give me, I will surely give the tenth to You.”

10. 雅各起程，離開別是巴，往哈蘭去。

11. 來一處地方，只因日陽西山，只能就地過夜，取了一塊石頭作枕，就躺下睡覺。

12. 當晚做了一個夢。見有梯子從天而下，有耶和華的使者上去下來。

13. 耶和華就在梯子頂端，說：我是耶和華，你先祖亞伯拉罕相信那位，以撒也相信。你現在躺臥之處，會賜給你和你的後裔。

14. 你的子孫像地上的塵沙那樣多，向東西南北四個方向擴展，家家因你和你子孫得福。

15. 我與你同在，無論往哪裡，會保護你。會從其他地方領你回到這地，不會離棄你，只為對你曾經承諾的應許。

16. 雅各夢到此就札醒，心裡疑惑：耶和華在此，竟不知道！

17. 他驚詫地：這處是何等可畏，它有閘可以通往天上的居所！

18. 雅各很早便醒來，取了作枕那石頭，立為紀念，澆油其上。

19. 他給那地方起名叫耶和華之家

20. 雅各確定耶和華的應許說：祂必與我同在，在我行的路上保佑我，衣食充足，

21. 有天必能平安回到父家，因為耶和華是我的主。

22. 這石頭所在的地方，就是耶和家所在的家。凡賜給我的，必會將其中十分之一呈獻給你。

雅各為何在出走時，在夢中有這份應許呈現出來？似乎是他心中對耶和華有深刻的理解，他的理解是從祖父、父親和母親的信念和行為中領悟出來。當他因為爭取耶和華對先祖立約而來的應許，主動去爭取，這份心意，相信是耶和華喜悅的緣因。這三代人都持守又堅持，這份心態和精神，正是人守信的一個明證，對立約的份尊重。

守約在心，在堅持，不在行為，也不用行為去證明。

這就可以解釋為何這三代人，沒有個人成就，沒有社會地位，沒有財富，卻比身為帝王權貴的人，蒙耶和華喜悅。耶和華看重這個人，是人生價值中自強，例如堅持在信仰中不失腳，這種自身強大的地方，在心力不在腦力。這樣的自身強大不在聰明，而在善良，不在為己而在為人人。這是和諧和平公義得以實現的基礎。有信心又明白耶和華必會同在，這人一不怕窮二不怕苦。這三代人的一生正好說明。

更為實用的一點：當人心中有耶和華，在睡夢中可以相遇對話。(方式的一種，祂無所不能，無所不在，無所不知)

現今的人常常問的一個問題：我怎知 [神] 的心意？這三代人以信心過活，環境會變，不可逆轉的情況如早災火災水災，以及各種人製造出來的大小禍事，都能坦然面對。相信這三代人都會有同一個反應：隨機應變。後果交由耶和華安排。

與耶和華相遇，那是隨心而來，不須要用腦筋思考，是從心中的感悟。你不是在做科學分析，是心靈的互動。外人無法說明，真理只呈現在這人心內，這人明白就足夠。亞伯拉罕明白、以撒利百加明白、雅各明白。耶和華同樣可以讓你明白，祂會用任何你可以想像的方式，與你溝通。

雅各的經歷，更為奇突，耶和華在那個相遇的地方，在雅各心中，就是神給他安居之處。可惜不是這個時候，這是一塊空地，看似曠野，心中卻認定這是一個家會在將來出現。他有這份信心，也預備一份決心。

於是有一幕在後面出現的情景：與耶和華摔跤。爭取不再去過寄居的日子。在幾千年之後，以色到立國，一個屬於自己的家。
