耶和華的事，不謀利沒有版權

1. And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

2. And when Jacob saw them he said, “This is God’s camp.” And he called the name of that place Two Camps.

3. Now Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother to the land of Seir, the country of Edom.

4. And he commanded them, saying, “So shall you speak to my lord Esau, ‘Your servant Jacob says thus, “I have lived with Laban and stayed until now.

5. And I have oxen and donkeys, flocks, and menservants, and maidservants. And I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in your sight.

6. And the messengers returned to Jacob saying, “We came to your brother Esau, and also he comes to meet you, and four hundred men with him.”

7. Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed, and he divided the people with him, and the flocks and herds, and the camels, into two bands.

8. And he said, “If Esau comes to the one company and strikes it, then the other company which is left shall escape.”

9. And Jacob said, “Oh God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD, Who said to me, ‘Return to your country and to your kindred, and I will deal well with you.’

10. I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have done to Your servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan, and now I have become two bands.

11. Deliver me, I pray You, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau; for I fear him, lest he come and strike me, and the mother with the children.

12. And You said, ‘I will surely do you good, and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’ ”

1. 雅各與拉班分手繼續前行，耶和華此時有信息給他。

2. 雅各看見這地，就想起：這是上次札營的地方，並給這地方起名叫兩陣營。

3. 雅各隨即打發信差前去他哥哥以掃處，地點是西珥，屬以東地域。

4. 他囑咐信差：見到以掃這樣說：事奉你的雅各，他一直與拉班同住，直到今日。

5. 如今我有自己的牛、驢、羊、並男女僕婢。我打發人前來告之，希望得蒙恩惠。

6. 信差回來稟報：已向你哥哥傳達了，他會帶四百人隨後跟來。

7. 雅各聞此，甚為害怕，心感不妥，就把婢僕、牛羊、駱駝分成兩份。

8. 心想：若以掃萬一帶來人馬要來搶的話，剩下的一份就得以保存。

9. 雅各隨後禱告：先祖亞伯拉罕的耶和華，祖父以撒的耶和華，我的耶和華啊，祢曾應許我，叫我回到那本地本族去，必厚待於我。

10. 我不值得祢這等恩慈對待，事實祢為我做了許多。如今要與我的人一起，過這約旦河對岸，你曉得我是屬於祢陣營的人。

11. 我懼怕他以掃是來要懲治我，和孩子並他們的母親。相信祢會救我脫離我哥哥以掃的手。

12. 記得祢曾說過：必會厚待我，讓我的後裔像海邊的沙那樣，不可勝數。

The term  Camps (מחנים) H4266  Mahanaim

Most often refers to one of the following topics, depending on the context:

• Children’s game: A popular nickname for a ball game (such as “baller” or dodgeball), in which participants are divided into two groups and their goal is to harm participants from the opposing team by throwing a ball. The name is derived from the Bible (Genesis 32:3), in which Jacob calls the place  Mahanim  Named after the two camps that met there (his camp and the camp of the angels). 
• Kibbutz Machaneyim: A collective settlement in northern Ramat Korazim, near Rosh Pina, belonging to the Upper Galilee Regional Council. The kibbutz was established in  1939   (according to Wikipedia) or 1952 (according to other sources), and is a secular renewed kibbutz with about 859 residents. 
• Yeshiva Or Torah Machanim: A Hesder yeshiva located on site, offering high-level Torah study alongside military service (Hesder or full) in elite units. 
• Literature: The design “Machanim” also appears as the name of Franz Molnar’s book (“Machanim” / “Machanim”) and in the “Machanim” publishing house, which is famous for its stories of the righteous for children. 

註：因為這是可以按處境去解釋的一句，同時也因為當時用字有限所致。按之前雅各的體會，這個營字，似乎要表達二個不同的世界，一個在天一個在地，只是這二處當中有一條天梯，有使者上去下來。它似乎帶有一個含意，耶和華預備了一天梯，人的靈可以上，使者或耶和華的訊息可以傳遞下來，這是人的靈和耶和華可以互通的。也可能指涉雅各和他哥哥在現實的處境中是二不相容的陣營，意帶相關。

摩西這段描述有深意，它反照一個非常現實的生活處境：雅各想復和。

在雅各方面：

這段記述是描述他的心情和如何準備去見他曾經欺騙過的哥哥。在處理舊約經文的稱呼有時要靈活，舊約有些觀念不同於東方，例如主，有時指在上位的，或尊重某人，如兄弟的尊稱，也會借用主一詞。這處用哥哥那是明顯，讓東方人看得明白，西方人士沒有哥哥這形容，它與東方文化的表達不同。

雅各沒有欺騙，是因為母親的 [遠見] 也是人生一椿無奈的事，對雅各而言，是無法逃避的現實。因此心中有愧，是順理成章，一生愧疚隨身，面對以掃顯得不知所惜。

雅各深信耶和華是無容置言，即管如此，內愧依舊不能因為有耶和華，置良心不理。也許這是個很好的提醒，也可以作為分辨良善與否的一個準則。這故事要理解，也許得從耶和華如何看待人犯錯。

犯錯有刻意有非不得意二類。雅各是非不得意這類，因為由不得自己，耶和華明白，在摩西的描繪中，看不到耶和華因此不喜歡雅各。雅各因為無奈也沒有抱怨耶和華為何如此待他，依舊一心信靠。

雅各對認識耶和華有真實的一面，就是對他的承諾不變。

正因為不是全面的認識，對於自己犯錯的事，按人性的善惡那份了解，總覺得不容易放下，因為受通俗的習性影響，不容易相信。就有了以下的部署：

1. 向耶和華取得安心的保證：v9-v12雅各禱告：先祖亞伯拉罕的耶和華，祖父以撒的耶和華，我的耶和華啊，祢曾應許我，叫我回到那本地本族去，必厚待於我。 我不值得祢這等恩慈對待。事實祢為我做了許多。如今要與我的人一起，過這約旦河對岸，你曉得我是屬於祢陣營的人。會救我脫離我哥哥以掃的手，我懼怕他來是懲治我，和孩子並他們的母親。記得你曾說過：必會厚待我，讓我的後裔像海邊的沙那樣，不可勝數。

2. 為自己安全部署：財產分二組，一組先行一組留後。家人不過河，遠離是非地。大禮行前自己隨後。

3. 自己是過路 (下段有描述)，希望以此修補關係，是有心補償，贖回當日的過失。

耶和華喜歡雅各不是沒有緣因。雅各相信不假卻是不全，依舊害怕，這是他真實的人生經歷。我們可嘗不是！耶和華體會，了解人在處境下產生的無奈，為此犯錯，在耶和華看來是成長必經之途，只要心性不改相信仍在，耶和華便與你同在。雅各向高處行不是壞事。
