11. And it came to pass on a certain day that he came into the house to do his work. And none of the men of the house were inside.

12. And she caught him by his robe, saying, “Lie with me.” And he left his robe in her hand and fled, and got out of the house.

13. And when she saw that he had left his robe in her hand and had fled,

14. She called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, “See, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice.

15. And when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried aloud, he left his robe with me and fled and got out.”

16. And she laid up his robe beside her until his lord came home.

17. And she spoke to him according to these words, saying, “The Hebrew servant which you have brought to us came in to me to mock me.

18. And as I lifted up my voice and cried aloud, he left his robe with me and ran out.”

19. And when his master heard the words of his wife which she spoke to him, saying, “Your servant did this to me,” his wrath was kindled.

20. And Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound. And he was there in the prison.

21. But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

22. And the keeper of the prison gave all the prisoners in the prison into Joseph’s hand. And whatever they did there, was his doing.

23. The keeper of the prison did not concern himself with anything under his hand because the LORD was with Joseph, and whatever he did, the LORD made it to prosper.

11. 過了一段時日，約瑟到寢宮辦事，內中沒有男性。

12. 這婦人襯機上前抓住約瑟外袍，說：睡一會罷。約瑟即時攦脫這糾纏，外袍便留在她手裡。

13. 這婦人只有白白看著他逃脫，握有約瑟的外袍在手。

14. 這婦人心生一計，叫來女傭，對他們說：這希伯來人約瑟調戲我，又想強暴，我就大聲喊叫。

15. 他見我大聲喊叫，就急忙逃走，卻被我抓住外袍。

16. 她把這外袍留在身邊等著這位刑官回來。

17. 看到他回來，便對丈夫說：你收留那個希伯來奴隸，他來調戲我。

18. 我不甘受辱便大聲呼喊，他就丟下外衣逃去。

19. 這刑官聽見妻子是這樣描述事件：你的奴僕就是如此這般的羞辱我。聽罷即時怒氣填胸。

20. 約瑟因此被關在牢內，那是人犯重罪被收監的地方。

21. 縱是如此，約瑟相信的耶和華依舊向他施予憐憫，遇到一位深明大義的獄長。

22. 他把獄中事務都讓他處理，可以按照他的想法，該如何處置就如何辦理。

23. 獄長對約瑟經手的事，放心得很從不過問。約瑟有耶和華同在。無論做什麼，都十分公正妥善。

摩西似乎想說明人受冤屈的時候，持定信念與耶和華同行，能摟轉看來不幸的遭遇。這現象不是耶和華主動，是人自身的遠見，深信耶和華同在，即使在現實生活看來不堪，只要信心在，耶和華必然開一條出路。

約瑟就是個例子。約瑟之後的摩西，以色列人和猶太人在信仰的理解上漸走漸遠，最終是耶和華差耶穌到來。那是以色列人和猶太人在信仰的延續，藉制度掌握了話語權，經歷好幾十個世紀，直至耶穌基督再臨。以色列人就與猶太人一同經歷時艱，一個以馬利亞的家譜，經耶穌的延續留下來，是守約蒙憐憫的一族，遭遇苦難卻不拋棄信念的一族。另一個是以約瑟(馬利亞的丈夫)，到猶大伸延至亞當，是個倒叙，亞當是以血氣行事的先驅，因為與夏娃相比，她選擇分辨的能力在自己，亞當成了行血氣的一族的代表。

約瑟是如何守住信仰？這是人的自決而來，因為明白什麼是人存在的意義：有壬愛的世界比什麼都重要。

人一直問存在的意義，為何有這問題，而且到今日也許以後更長時間，都會不斷地問。之所以有這問題出現，正是人生的兩面：現實的負面比正面要多。

這負面和正面之所以出現，是人自己選擇，得出來的現象。為何負面的選擇比選擇正面的人要多？緣因是：生存比生存得有意義之間，選擇前者的人多。為信人會選擇前者。那是因為存在比存在的此義來得重要，當中有種感覺在推動：恐懼或是較輕微的害怕不斷的影響。

這個害怕的情況怎樣發生？是人為。人的靈巧不純良導致這種情況出現。它導致人有被騙的感覺，由此對人失去信心。那麼如何不會被騙或甘願去被騙，那是另一選擇，因為這被召的人多，選上的人少 (馬太22:14) ，路窄囉！人心籌算自己的道路，唯耶和華指引他的腳步 (箴言16:9)。世上有少數人會去選擇甘願被騙，是因為深信耶和華有保護。願意選窄路的人以行動直正，就不用恐懼，又因為靈活加純良而趨吉避兇。像約瑟一樣。他為後世作出典範。

約瑟展明一個道理，人因為有信能夠靈巧純良，識得念誦的人多，很少人明白。如果你明白，也去讓別人明白，與他們多多分享。
