11. And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, he went out to his brethren and looked upon their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brethren.

12. And he looked this way and that way, and when he did not see anyone, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

13. And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together. And he said to the guilty one, “Why do you strike your neighbor?”

14. And he said, “Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” And Moses feared, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

15. And when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses had fled from the face of Pharaoh, and lived in the land of Midian. And he sat down by a well.

16. And the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.

17. And the shepherds came and drove them away, but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

18. And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, “Why have you hurried to come today?”

19. And they said, “An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew for us and watered the flock.”

20. And he said to his daughters, “And where is he? Why then have you left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

21. And Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave Moses his daughter Zipporah.

22. And she bore a son, and he called his name Gershom, for he said, “I have been a stranger in a strange land.”

23. And it came to pass after many days the king of Egypt died. And the children of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

24. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

25. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them.

11. 過了很長的一段時間，摩西長大成人。有日在外看到有同族的兄弟，在作勞務的事候，被埃及人歐打。

12. 他左右張看，發覺不到有人，把打那埃及人給殺了，埋在沙裡。

13. 翌日，摩西出外，見兩個希伯來人在爭吵，質問打人的：為何打你的同伴？

14. 那人回說：誰要你作和事佬？難道想殺我，像殺那埃及人嗎？摩西心想，這事肯定傳開了。

15. 法老果然知道這事，就想除掉摩西。只是摩西早就作出逃的安排，現在逃到米甸，正坐在井旁。

16. 當時米甸有位祭司，的七個女兒，在這時候到來打水，去裝滿水糟，供父親的羊飲用。

17. 有別的牧羊人，先來後上趕走她們。摩西見狀，起來驅走，並為她們裝滿供羊的用水。

18. 她們回家時，父親流珥好奇地問：今天為何這麼遲？

19. 女兒回說：有一位埃及人把欺負我們的牧羊人趕走，又為我們打滿給羊的飲用水。

20. 流珥問女兒：這人現在哪裡？為何不邀請他回來？現在去找他來，食一頓飯聊表謝意？

21. 摩西應邀赴會，又願意留下，流珥樂意把女兒西坡拉給摩西為妻。

22. 西坡拉生了一兒子，摩西給他起名革舜，意思是在異鄉寄居。

23. 過了不知多少年日，新王駕崩。以色列人受到更大的約束，哀聲達到耶和華耳中。

24. 既聽見這份深沉的哀嘆，耶和華因為和亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各有約。

25. 因為這約，祂起來垂顧以色列人。

摩西記念這事，時序很長，這群因當年天旱，寄居於埃及，到新王就任，就沒有了他們的前人之間，有過深厚情宜一事。人，變火得功利涼薄。這現象在人間很普遍。若人把自己的今生，斷連於以前種種因緣，就只有活在今生，不會瞻前顧後，因緣既斷，成就了涼薄做人。這種沒有思前想後的意識，是一種不去分辨的惰性起作用。

摩西是因為有這份情懷，被耶和看華為寶貴。耶和華出手助他，因為這正是祂要找的人選，有份心志，拯救家人。而他，在整個家族當中，唯一有這樣心志的人。耶和華看重不是這個人，是這個人的心。摩西能文，因為能寫出五經，只是，不屬武將，又沒有一呼百應的魅力，這麼大的一群，如何號召，也許只有耶和華能幫助，也是耶和華作出選擇的緣由，守住自己的承諾。

這些以色列人當中相信有許多仍舊相信，這些人呼叫以至耶和華聽了，為他們找尋出路。祂需要一位有能力，如號召和有組織能力的人，摩西在埃及受良好教育，對同胞有份體恤憐愛之情，正是適合的人選，被揀選去成就大事。這有點像今日的川普，看到世界被私慾包圍，人人受共你產影響至深，是非不分，這人被揀選出來平定，方式就像選摩西一樣。

摩西逃了。逃得掉嗎？他可以逃出人的手掌，無法逃離耶和華刻意的幫助，因為救家人的心未怋。

摩西只是在逃，那是生命猶關的事。不是耶和華叫，是本能的反應。也因此沒有心思去想，如何救以色列人，是能力和膽識二者都沒有。耶和華看重，是他的心，又有行動的實力。這就是他有的膽識和能力，一種潛藏於內的良心和做對的事的意志。人，衝動過，做錯過，也不用怕，出於正義，後果是耶和華不會離棄兼且加力，給你為後盾，包底到尾。

摩西不是因為要做好人而為之，是因為內在的真性情。見同族人被欺負，不論是男或女，出來相助，是本性流露。耶和華喜歡，一般人也會喜歡，因這人有份正氣，有份擔帶。

耶和華看重，是人這份不斷自強，有份為家人付出的意志，你有沒有？在信仰層面，你的家人是誰？你們之間有怎樣的情懷，屬家人還是私己？如何定親疏遠近。為你好，是近還是遠的感覺？心中有懂界定，就多多分享。
