Only consciousness
In fact, there is only one state, not two states like consciousness and unconsciousness; There is only one state of existence, which is consciousness, although you can divide it into consciousness and unconsciousness. But that consciousness always belongs to the past, never to the present; You are only aware of things that have ended. Aren’t you also aware of what I want to convey next? You only understand moments later. You have never been aware or aware of the present. Observe your own mind and thoughts, and you will find consciousness operates between past and future, and the present is merely a passage from the past to the future……
If you observe how your mind operates, you will find that moving toward the past and future is a process that does not exist in the present. The past is either a means to escape the present, which may be unpleasant; or the future is a hope far removed from the present. So the mind is occupied by the past or future while ignoring the present…… It either condemns and rejects facts, or accepts and identifies with facts. Such a mind clearly cannot regard any fact as fact. That is, our state of consciousness is conditioned by the past and thoughts, a conditioned response to challenges to facts; The more you respond according to beliefs and past conditioned reflexes, the stronger the past becomes.
The reinforcement of the past is clearly the continuity of itself, which is called the future. This is the state of our mind and consciousness—a pendulum swinging back and forth between past and future.
